Guardian Angel of Random Act of Kindness
It was 11.30 pm or so. I was driving home from long day of work. Halfway, saw a Perodua Viva in hazard light, stalled at the traffic light. I drove past them.
Part of me saying
"you just drove past it. getting back to there requires one big round. You know nothing about car troubleshooting, there is no use you stop by. You are tired, faster just go home"
Somehow, I made the decision to turn back to the car. True enough, the car suffers from some gear box malfunction. It needs to be sent to workshop. At that hour, workshops are all closed.
The couple inside the car are actually clueless of what to do. I googled for them the 24-hour car breakdown service provided by the insurance company. But then, what they bought did not covered of breakdown assistance. I offered them contacts for car towing friends.
But they aren't keen to pay the high cost as this is already a midnight call. So I helped them to push the car to somewhat 300m away to park the vehicle at more appropriate location.
Then, seeing the issue considered settled, as they already called their friend to come and pick them up to go back to Cheras, I leave the place.
The reason that I gone back to help them is because I was reminded how it feels like to have car breakdown, stranded and feeling helpless. During those time, I was fortunate to have assistance from many random people whom passes by, offers their skills and knowledge to sort things out.
It's because of this random act of kindness by those people inspired me to do this.
I dedicate this to the random Guardian Angel that helped me during my vehicle breakdown. Thank you.
