Wedding Invitation
I remember attended a wedding dinner, where the couple made a huge effort in planning their wedding. It was held in nice ballroom, with thoughtful decorations, asking the guests to come one hour earlier by providing pre-dinner cocktail to beat the Malaysian timing attitude.
It started with the couple themselves performing the opening gig etc etc...
A friend of mine, whom sat across to me, said this sentence that goes along the line like this:

"Wahh.... do until so powerr.... raise the bar so high.... siao liao... my wedding gotta raise my game to topple that!"
While there is nothing wrong with the statement, however I disagree with the fact the wedding ceremony is being looked as if it is a competition - as if we are entering a one-off performance of "So You Think You Can Throw A Wedding Dinner" contest.
Yes. It is an awesome wedding dinner.
Yes. It makes the guests go gaga.
Yes. It is filled with a lot of romantic gestures.
But no, my own wedding doesn't have to beat that wedding.
I would like to think that wedding dinner is an event where the bride and the groom celebrates their relationship and now they are stepping into the next level of their relationship.

A moment to signify the commitment of both male and female in playing their role in THEIR game of love.
An official moment to acknowledge the effort and the identity of each other and starts to welcoming each other into both families.
It is also the moment where the couple would like to share their love to their family and friends; to come and gather together to celebrate such meaningful & joyful moment of love.
There's so many kind of wedding dinner that I attended in the past. However, whether it is high profile, low profile, simple, cosy, or hooha kind, each wedding has their own story to tell; their own unique love story.
My personal favorite, the one I remembered the most, is not how grand the decoration is, or how much money they spent. What caught my attention that night is the effort of the couple in choosing the playlist of songs for their wedding. Each love songs were chosen with a reason behind it.
On the contra side, I attended a wedding, at a high profile Chinese ballroom venue, with super grand decoration and lines of performers, but unfortunately the love story of the couple is not shown.
Partly is probably due to the fact that I don't know the bride and the groom, as I was invited by the bride's mom.
However, it is quite obvious to see that the bride and groom has no authority for the night.
It made me feel that the wedding was done for the sake of doing it.
That, gave me a new perspective.
That a wedding dinner is not measured by how big is the crowd or how grand the display is or powerful the event flow.
Heck, there shall be no measurement at all.
How do you even measure love?
It is immeasurable, hence if it is not measurable, how to make comparison?
A wedding dinner/reception should be a moment of a love story being shared, with the people that matters.
Come to think of it, it is more meaningful to attend a ten tables wedding as compared to a hundred tables wedding, doesn't it?
